The Foundation
Base Fabric: The choli and lehenga skirt are crafted from a heavyweight, ultra-premium raw silk. This fabric provides a clean, smooth silhouette and possesses the inherent stiffness required to hold the sweeping volume of the skirt paneling (kalis).
Sheer Accents: The dupatta and the full sleeves utilize a fine-gauge, transparent tulle net. This creates an aesthetic balance between the heavy, opaque structure of the raw silk and an airy, breathable drape.
Technical Craftsmanship & Borders
Architectural Panels
Panel Configuration: The skirt is engineered using traditional geometric vertical panels (kalis). These panels are custom-tailored to be narrower at the waistline and expand exponentially toward the hem to distribute the weight evenly without bunching.
Motifs: The surface features repetitive, symmetrical structural patterns inspired by classical archways, framing intricate paisley (kalka) medallions and climbing vine lattices.
Embellishment Framework
Threadwork: The metallic texture is achieved primarily through a blend of raised zardozi (metallic thread wire) and flat tilla embroidery, providing a rich, multi-dimensional surface pattern.
Surface Reflection: Small glass bugle beads (cut-dana), micro-pearls, and flat metallic sequins are integrated into the floral stems to capture and refract light uniformly.
Hemline Execution: The skirt concludes with a multi-layered border layout. It begins with parallel geometric bands, moves into a wider botanical band, and finishes with a heavily encrusted, structured scalloped edge that keeps the hem flat to the floor.
